Work with us!

Mufti Games are hiring a Visual Storyteller to help us expand our audience online.

Founded in 2013, Mufti Games make playable experiences for all ages. We believe in the power and the importance of play. Our work is unique, accessible and fun.

We have a compendium of playable theatre shows such as L_ve Hangman [link] and MASSIVE BATTLESHIPS [link] and have toured to venues and festivals including National Theatre, Eden Project, Festival Number 6 and many more.

We also create games, props, and play workshops for clients from universities to city councils, arts centres to adoptive family groups. We use play to engage people in ideas, research and heritage and encourage play for play’s sake.

We’ve got lots going on, and that’s really exciting, but we’re not telling our story as well as we’d like to. We want to photograph our props, make gifs for our shows, interview our players and share this material to meet new people. That’s where you come in…

We’re looking for a self-motivated, creative marketeer with imagination and a playful attitude. You should have photography skills, the ability to create gifs, edit photos and make and edit video, plus a working knowledge of appropriate softwares; a good knowledge of social media channels, and an understanding or interest in web optimisation and how to reach audiences. You will help shape creative marketing strategies and help steer us in our communications.  You might be great at copywriting too, but that’s not essential – we’re a collaborative team.We want our communication tools to be as playful as our games while also engaging people and we’ll give room to experiment and try out ideas.

We are offering £20k pro rata, 8 hours a week, 6 month contract, flexible hours. The role has been funded by an Arts Council England Project Grant and we intend for the role to continue past 6 month period and grow. You will be joining a company in an exciting period of growth. We’re currently a small team supported by a brilliant host of freelance makers, artists and performers. You’ll be joining in time to see in the launch of our new website (created by Extra Strong) a consolidation of our branding and support a facelift of our social media platforms.

Role will include

  • Creating content for our social media channels, newsletter and website
  • Create and lead on a newsletter for company.
  • Contribute to blog pieces with images and ideas.
  • Telling the story of our numerous projects
  • Visually document our archived props and projects.
  • Film and document gigs, workshops and engagements
  • Boost our online audience
  • Attend arts and play events
  • Expand our audiences in the UK and abroad.

We’ll provide you with digital SLR camera, access to all our archives and props, support with training and development and you’ll travel to see our shows on the road. You’ll have access to all of our professional networks.  We have bases at Mivart Studios in Easton and at Pervasive Media Studio, or you can work from wherever you are. Bristol-based is preferred but not essential.

Interested? Here’s a challenge:

Research us online: we’re on Flickr, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and there’s our website. What story might you choose to tell online and how? Who would you try to reach, and what tools would you use to do it?  Present this to us in a visual document, a video presentation or another format if you prefer.

Send us this, along with a short letter detailing your experience (with links to your work), why you’re interested and your suitability to the role. If you would prefer to apply via a video of yourself, audio or by another means, please feel free to do so.

Closing date 9am 17th September. Interviews on 21st or 24th September.

We are an inclusive company and intend to be representative of society, we encourage applications from all backgrounds.
