Heres One We Made Earlier

We’re very excited to be working with MShed, Bristol on Here’s One We Made Earlier, our very own gameshow, based on kids TV from the 80’s and 90’s.

We are collaborating with some of our favourite local performers including Simon Panrucker and Smoking Puppet Cabaret to rehash some of our favourite kids TV games so that you, the audience can play them.

Running the risk of being more entertaining than a night in the broom cupboard and as charged as that time Gordon the Gopher was set upon by a terrier. Here’s One We Made Earlier gives you the chance to fulfill all your childhood dreams.

But what games do you want to see? Mallets Mallet, Knightmare, Run the Risk? Please tweet us your favourite kids TV games and they might make it into the show! @muftigames

Heres One We Made Earlier 21st July, 8-10pm, MShed, Wapping Road, Bristol

Heres One We Made Earlier is part of The Story of Childrens Television exhibition running at MShed from July to September.

So get along to Eden Project for a brilliant week of games!

Work with us….

Mufti Games WLTM designers/makers/inventors for fun times

We are a Bristol based team of theatre-makers who love to work with performers, musicians and designers to make and to play games.

Our flagship games, MASSIVE BATTLESHIPS and L_VE HANGMAN, have been played at a range of festivals, street events and theatres including Festival Number 6, Bristol Festival of Puppetry, Bristol Old Vic and partners on the Northern Touring Network, and we have created original commissions for Bristol 2015 Green Capital and the Barbican Centre.

We’ve been lucky enough to work with some brilliant designers and makers to date (including Corina Bona, Kid Carpet, Will Datson and Priormade). Each project and game is a bit different, calling for different skills, disciplines and ways of working, so we’re looking to broaden our knowledge of who’s out there who might want to get involved, and join our multi-talented squad of associates.

This isn’t a job offer, but there are tasks and projects in the pipeline and new ideas to be cooked up together. So if you design and/or make brilliant, ingenious, playful ‘things’ (costumes, sets, contraptions, sounds etc) and you like to play games, we’d love to hear from you.

We’ll invite a number of artists/makers along to meet in Bristol on Thu 21 Janto have tea and talk about their work (may be even play a game). If you’re interested in getting to know each other, please send a short covering email (150-250 words is fine), subject heading “Designer/maker WLTMU”, to play@muftidoesgames.com stating:

  • Why you’d like us to meet
  • What’s your ‘thing’
  • Your favourite game and why

Please also include/attach at least one of the following:

  • CV or short biog
  • A link to your website or portfolio

Make sure your email reaches us no later than 5pm, Mon 4 Jan. Please don’t attach image files, any other docs, or movies etc.

If we’d like to meet we’ll let you know by Mon 11 Jan. If you can’t make the date or we’ve already met and you just want to check-in again, please do feel free to drop a line anyway to say hello. We’re happy to hear from people outside of Bristol, but regret that we can’t pay expenses.
